Dear Elana,
We were all devastated to hear the tragic news of the killing of Yochai,ZL and
his fellow soldiers. Cara had arrived back to Sydney last Friday and was so enthusiastic
about her whole experience in Israel and especially her time of
"contributing to the country & the people of Israel" through the volunteer work at
MDA. She learnt so much from Yochai, about First aid, caring, and especially
about enthusiasm & determination to save & care for those in need. Her
sobs of grief and anger have affected the whole family and we all feel like we
have lost a family member. I only spoke to Yochai once when he phoned me to
return my voicemail message at 3AM Sydney time. He was so apologetic but
sounded so sweet, how could I be annoyed with him. Slowly
Cara is reading all the email information relating to Yochai, and tells us
anecdotes and favorite memories she has.
We send our wishes of sympathy to the Porat family, & can't even imagine
their grief ,but the country has lost a most worthy
son. His diligence, compassion and enthusiasm may live on in the students he
taught and loved. They know that every time they care for or save a life it
is Yochai's will that works through their hands.
We saw the photos of the latest graduation. Do you have any with Cara &
Yochai in the same picture & if not just with Cara in any photo?
Would you be able to email
us a copy?
Thank you for your part in the program,
yours Dianne Kuchar
