Magen David Adom Volunteers 

 

 

 

 


Program Description:  Volunteering with Magen David Adom (MDA)- the ambulance services of Israel- as first response providers, and assisting the MDA teams of medics and paramedics. 

 

Requirements for Participation:

·        Basic knowledge of Hebrew

·        Recognized certification in first aid, OR participation in a MDA course in Israel (courses are provided during the first week of each volunteer session)

 

Ages:  18-25

* It is possible to take older volunteers provided they already have the necessary certification, and they can provide their own living arrangements.  It is not possible to participate in the program under the age of 18.

 

Location of Volunteer Work:  MDA stations in the following cities: Jerusalem, Kfar Sava, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Be’er Sheva, Arad, Haifa, Tiberias.

* It is possible to volunteer in the Gush Dan region provided the participant is responsible for his/her own living arrangements in the area.

 

Location of Housing:  Immigrant Absorption Centers in the above listed cities

 

Room and Board:  Housing is provided (for those living in the immigrant absorption centers), Food is not provided

 

Starting Dates of Program:  Every Sunday during the month of May (Arrival at the airport on Sunday in the afternoon, Israel time)

 

Period of Volunteering:  2 months

 

Program Staff:  The MDA coordinator of the Tnuat Aliyah will be in continuous contact with the volunteers, but will not accompany the group at all times after the training period.
